10th Anniversary of Mary MacKillop’s Canonisation

October 17 marks the 10th anniversary of the canonisation of Mary MacKillop, Australia’s first Saint. The theme for this celebration is “Take Fresh Courage” – a quote written by Mary MacKillop on 21 May 1877.

MacKillop Catholic College will celebrate this event on Friday 16 October. We would like to thank Sr Jane Maisey for creating the beautiful commemorative cards that will be distributed to our community on Friday.

The Sisters of Saint Joseph invite you to celebrate the wonderful life and inspirational legacy of Saint Mary of the Cross. Their website provides a reflection on the theme and life of Mary MacKillop, and includes commemorative prayers, videos, and a global vigil to honour Mary throughout October.
