Fundraiser for Bryanthe
Recently, a Year 1 student of our school, the beautiful Bryanthe, suffered a serious medical episode whilst at school. After being rushed to Gosford hospital, and afterwards flown by medical flight to Sydney, she underwent life-saving surgery.
Bryanthe had been living with an arteriovenous malformation (AVM), a tangle of blood vessels in the brain that diverts vital blood supply away from the brain. Brain AVM’s occur in less than 1% of the population. Due to an unknown and possibly lengthy recovery, Bryanthes Mum has had to stop working. Bryanthes Mum is not only a single mum, but also caring for her own Mum.
We as a College community are getting behind this family. Coming up we have some special fundraising events (stay tuned for more info), but the main thing that is happening right now is a GoFundMe campaign.
If you can, we ask you to help out by giving a little, or giving a lot – whatever you can. When we come together even small amounts make a BIG difference. Let’s come together as a community and support those in need around us. After all, our College is modelled after Mary MacKillop, who famously said, “Never see a need without doing something about it”.
