Sr Marea’s Retirement & Mary MacKillop Feast Day
August 8 is Mary MacKillop Feast Day. It is a very special day where we honour Mary and all that she did in our nation. Mary was the first Saint of Australia, and is recognised for her commitment to the poor, and helping those in need.
Fittingly, Sister Marea Ross chose this day as her retirement day after 57 years in Catholic Education, and 20 years of service at MCC. During the Mass there were many comparisons to Mary MacKillop, as Sr Marea displayed many of the characteristics of Mary MacKillop throughout her ministry.
We wish to thank all of our special guests for joining us to celebrate Sr Marea’s retirement, we know that she is very grateful and blessed that you were able to make it.
Here are just some of the highlights of the day – you can see the entire gallery HERE.
