Central Coast Oztag Championships
On Thursday, 20 June, our boys and girls from 7/8 competed in the Central Coast Oztag Competition. We are happy to report that the girls have progressed through to the state finals, known as the NSW Champions of Champions schools, held over two days in August.
Our girls played extremely well, demonstrating exceptional talent, teamwork, and humility as they played as a team and were successful in placing in the top two out of 24 schools.
The grand final was a nail-biter. Our wingers were taken out as they dived for tries in the corner, causing a few injuries and leaving players out for the rest of the final. Not to worry; our girls didn’t give up, and it was a competitive Grand final, with both teams progressing through to the State finals. I’m sure our ladies will want redemption in August.
A big thanks to Mr Wilkins and Miss Cobb for being so supportive during games and with the boys, and to Mr Black for organising this opportunity for both sides.
