Artist in Residence: Adam Hill
04 Jul 2018
Excursion
Students from Years 7, 8, 9 and 11 had a wonderful experience with skilled artist and musician, Adam Hill, a descendant from the Dhungatti people of Kempsey.
In the workshop, students were challenged with an auditory drawing exercise. Adam explained his learning of the Yidaki (didgeridoo) and the complex playing styles of the traditional custodians. Students then translated the sounds onto paper, thus creating quick and colourful abstract art pieces.
The workshop concluded with students engaging in a drawing activity utilising their shows to design their ‘mark’ on history.
