Welcome to Nihon Daiichi Junior High
On Sunday 29 July, MacKillop Catholic College host families welcomed the arrival of 25 students accompanied by two staff, Mr Yuhara and Ms Koga, from our Japanese sister school, Nihon Daiichi Junior High. Our families spent the afternoon getting to know their host student and welcoming them into their homes.
Monday saw the College acknowledging the arrival of our guests with an assembly in the Church, where our College Principal, Mr Steve Todd, officially welcoming everyone for another anniversary of this strong and meaningful relationship.
The students have a busy two weeks ahead of them organised by our wonderful Japanese staff, Mrs Helen Beech and Mr Andrew Kilham, which will include English/Music/Food Technology lessons, excursions to see local sights, and many activities providing the opportunity for cross-cultural learning. We look forward to sharing with you these wonderful experiences along the way.
