VET Award Nominees
We congratulate Leah C for selection as a finalist in the VET In Schools Student of the Year and to Casey M for selection as a finalist for School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the Year.
These Year 12 students were nominated in their respective categories by Mrs Kerrie Pearce, Leader of VET/Careers Advisor, with Leah studying Certificate II in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) and Certificate III in Fitness, and Casey studying a Certificate III in Carpentry.
Both young ladies were excited to receive the news:
“To have the privilege to say I am a nominee for such a prestigious award means so much to me. To be acknowledged for my continuing effort during my VET courses of both Hospitality and Fitness is extremely rewarding. If successful, i will use my platform to ensure others are aware and appreciate what outstanding opportunities vet offers.” – Leah.
“Being nominated is a great achievement, it also pushes me to keep doing what I enjoy and take pride in my work. If successful, I will be extremely proud of myself and what I’ve achieved in such little time.” – Casey.
From here, Leah and Casey will move on to be interviewed by a panel of officials in May – we wish you both all the very best of luck!
