Vinnies Winter Appeal and Sleepout
During Weeks 6-7, our Mini Vinnies (Secondary) and Mini Macks (Primary) will be collecting donations for our Winter Appeal. Primary students can deliver these to class, and Secondary students can donate these during Pastoral. This collection drive will accept donations right up to and including Friday 4 June. For more information, please see the graphic at the bottom of this page.
On Friday 4 June, our Mini Vinnies are hosting a Winter Sleepout. Homelessness is a growing issue in Australia, particularly on the Central Coast. The Winter Sleepout provides students with an opportunity to experience the realities of homelessness by sleeping rough for one night. This event will highlight this important issue, with special guests from Beauty for Ashes, Pacific Link Housing and Coast Shelter joining the conversation with our students. During the evening, students will also participate in themed games with prizes, and have dinner together. Students across Years 7-12 are invited to attend the evening up until 9pm, however, only Year 10-12 will be able to stay overnight where they will continue the evening with more guest speakers, games and supper. For students interested in coming to the Sleepout, please print the permission note from Compass, or collect one from the East Wing, and return to the East Wing drop box no later than Friday 28 May. Please see or email our Outreach Coordinator, Mrs Baxter, with any questions (michelle.baxter@dbb.catholic.edu.au)
This is a fantastic K-12 initiative and we thank everyone in advance for your support!
