Welcome Mr Jason Hanrahan – our new College Principal

It is with pleasure that I announce to you that our new College Principal from Term One 2022, is Jason Hanrahan.

Jason is no stranger to MacKillop as he visited us with a team from the Bathurst Diocese some 5 or 6 years ago as he was preparing to take on Yrs 11 & 12 at St. Matthews Catholic School Mudgee. Pleasingly, Jason took our place as a bit of a blueprint for how to not only build in the senior class groups but also, for many of our strategic and cultural identity ideas. A look at the St. Matthew’s website gives you a clear insight into how Jason embedded a new way of life there at St. Matt’s.
As a frequent visitor to Mudgee, I noted how successful the School was under Jason’s leadership. St. Matthews’s became the school to have your children at in Mudgee. He is highly respected by staff, students and families in the town. This is a tremendous compliment to Jason’s hard work and dedication in setting up the School for success.

Jason relocated to Newcastle with his wife and two daughters a couple of years ago. He travelled to Armidale each Monday morning to work in the CSO, where he was the School Performance Leader.

I know everyone will warmly welcome Jason here at Warnervale and, I know that he will be very keen to support our Josephite spirit and the wonderful House culture we have here at MacKillop.

As this year is quickly coming to an end, I will be inviting Jason to visit us for a tour, meet our Principals’ and leadership team and begin the process of transition for 2022. I will invite Jason to communicate with our parents and students to introduce himself to us all.
