Year 7 take on a STEM challenge
Throughout the year, Year 7 students have been introduced to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and its application to all facets of TAS and Science. While studying the topic of water, students were divided into groups of four and challenged to identify a problem associated with the use, or misuse, of water in Australia. Students needed to research their problem and develop a proposed solution both in theory and practice with a model example.
On Monday 11 December, these students showcased their proposals and projects in the Library where they were judged by peers, teachers and guest representatives. While this was not a formal assessment task, we were so impressed at the enthusiasm displayed by these students.
Feedback from our judges has been collated and we are pleased to announce our winners are Group 39: Leah, Laura, Mackenzie and Haylee! Well done to all!
